Purpose of the Award:
- To encourage basic and applied research for sustaining productivity, profitability, soil health & environmental quality.
- To recognize outstanding research, innovation & outreach in the area of plant nutrition.
- To build linkages with scientific community associated with the promotion of balanced use of plant nutrients.

Annual; cash prize (Rs. 500000); Gold Medal & Trophy
Eligibility for the 2025 Award:
▪ Researchers below the age of 45 years (as on or before 31st January 2026), working in the public/private/international institutions in India will be eligible for the award.
▪ Innovation in soil fertility management and fertilizer use research.
▪ Research work should be novel, original & have a direct bearing on agricultural productivity/profitability with demonstrable efficiency and competitiveness.
▪ The research work conducted in India shall be considered for the award.
▪ Outstanding contribution in the area of education & outreach of research findings.
▪ Having at least 10 research publications with a NAAS journal rating ≥ 5.
